Darin Meece was born in Lexington, Kentucky. He grew up in Durham and attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, majoring in History. After graduating from the University of North Carolina School of Law he returned home to practice in 1995. Since then, Darin has handled both residential and commercial real estate transactions, as well as a variety of civil litigation matters and misdemeanor traffic and criminal cases. An area of special interest has been estate planning (including wills, trusts and related documents) and estate administration for families who need help settling the final affairs of their loved ones. From that focus has grown an additional concentration in Elder Law, including Medicaid and long term care issues.
Darin lives in Durham, where he has been a lifelong member and now deacon at The Summit Church. He has enjoyed teaching 6th grade Sunday School for 5 years. Over the past several years, travel has become a passion, and has taken him to several parts of Africa, as well as Asia, including two trips to Indonesia. No matter how far he goes, however, nothing has replaced home away from home in Emerald Isle. While in Durham, he stays busy with school activities as well as the lives of his three children and wife, Tori.
